Young Maintenance

I employed Jason to clean and paint a gable end, which faces south east and was looking a bit tired after 10 years of weathering. I also got him to put up some bird netting to stop our feathered friends from sitting under the rafters and crapping on the terrace.I was really impressed with Jason's professionalism and his attention to detail. He was meticulous over every detail, checking with me beforehand if he had any doubt about what I wanted doing. His work was excellent and he invoiced what he quoted, which I thought entirely reasonable.He is also a very pleasant and undemanding guy who just gets on with things. It was a pleasure to have him working here and I had absolutely no qualms about leaving him alone in the house while I went out on various errands. He is a thoroughly decent and honest chap.HIs great advantage is that he is a Brit but one who has been living and working in French-speaking Switzerland for over 20 years. Whilst my French is good, it does not extend to the detailed vocabulary needed to deal with house maintenance and repairs. Here Jason can really add value because he has worked in the field here for a long time and knows all the terminology in French. In addition he is well aware of the difference in idioms and customs between the English and the French-speaking Swiss.I cannot recommend him highly enough.

We used Jason to clean & paint the exterior crepis & exposed wooden joists of our house (it hadn't been done by the previous owner for 20 years. It was mouldy & discoloured due to the sun & volets).The end result was incredible. It changed a tired, old looking house into something which looked brand new.The work was extremely well done & all the little, holes, chips & damage were repaired.What was especially commendable was the attention to detail & the preparation before the job. There were no splashes or drips on the tiles around the house or the volets, windows or doors.On top of it all, Jason is a really friendly, honest & enjoyable guy to have working at the house.We couldn't be happier with the end result.
