Good place, nice staff

First impressions matter: the pastry chefs here greet every single guest with a loud and cheerful “bonjour”, which sets the tone for a warm welcome to this gem of a neighbourhood pastry and bakery shop.Two options thereafter: sit in the pleasant tea room for table service, or order at the counter and sit at the common table. I prefer the second as this affords a wonderful view of the chefs at work, bantering about while they prepare their ganaches, mousses and fillings.The pastries, ranging from simple brioches, pains au chocolat and croissants to elaborate tartelettes, truffles and chocolates are all delicious. The savoury tarts and quiches are equally excellent. The only disappointment comes from the coffee, with low quality beans that come through as sour.
