School Harmony

Both my English speaking kids have been tutored privately by Harmony for the last 3.5 years. They LOVE her and she gets results! They both did great on their cantonal tests this year in French. This is an amazing achievement for both student and tutor since we only speak English at home and they are in a bilingual school - meaning they only have 50% French at school. Harmony is great at giving the kids tools/visuals to work through challenges like French spelling or word problems in math. The best endorsement you can have is that as soon as she walked out the door after giving her last lesson of the year my daughter said ‘’I miss her already’’ HIGHLY recommended.

I am truly inspired by the energy, enthusiasm and the pedagogical approach of Ms Godin who opens her new private school « Ecole Harmonie » this September.When I met Ms Godin to discuss the enrolment of my son, I felt a genuine interest on her behalf to establish an individual approach that could help my son succeed with his studies. The pedagogy proposed takes the best elements from various pedagogical approaches and they are assembled to best suit the individual needs of the child, while of course keeping a close eye on the requirements of the curricula. Ms Godin has solid experience in several private schools in Geneva, which allows her to master different pedagogical approaches and integrate different children in her new school.For me as an international employee, the school’s location in the Varembe neighborhood is ideal. School’s premises are spacious and light, in a quiet area of the building, and offer a possibility to hold classes in the garden. I could see how carefully Ms Godin has thought through every detail to welcome the children in the best possible conditions in her new school.The school curricula is harmoniously balanced between the requirements of the educational authorities of the Geneva Canton (it requires to have some classes in German), and the needs of international families in Geneva who would prefer a bilingual French-English teaching, and who are seeking a stable and familiar environment for the first years of schooling of their children.I wholeheartedly admire Ms Godin’s mastery in blending the best pedagogical approaches for the school to be truly child-centered, her creativity in finding the best tools for success for every child, and her courage in starting such a noble endeavor.

Une école parfaite, pour tous les enfants, avec ou sans difficultés ! La maîtresse part des centres d’intérêt du moment des enfants, par exemple la galette des rois, pour passer en revue tous les aspects du programme pédagogique à travers la recette, la sortie pour faire les courses, la réalisation du gâteau lui-même, et également la création de divers supports pour expliquer ce qu’ils ont fait. Le thème change régulièrement (2-3 semaines) et permet vraiment aux enfants d’apprendre avec plaisir.Bravo et merci à toute l’équipe.

Mon fils de 3 ans est scolarisé à l'école Harmonie et il y est très heureux. Il a beaucoup de plaisir à apprendre et à travailler sur divers projets avec ses camarades de classe. Depuis qu'il est à l'école Harmonie, il est devenu plus autonome et plus sociable avec les autres enfants. Le fait que l'école Harmonie soit inclusive a développé chez lui de l'empathie et de l'ouverture envers les autres.

Un endroit où les enfants sont au centre,enfin ! On part d'eux pour réaliser le programme au lieu de leur infliger. Une ambiance chaleureuse, une grande qualité d'écoute. Que du positif !!!

I am so grateful that my son gets to be a part of this amazing inclusive school with a smile on his face every morning! Thanks to Harmony and her team he has made immense progress in his social and academic development. The individualised attention he receives at Ecole Harmonie is something he would not have been able to get anywhere else in Geneva. C'est une école très bien équipée. Il y a un retour d'information constant entre les enseignants et les parents. Ma fille y va volontiers et me parle avec enthousiasme de toutes les nouvelles choses qu'elle apprend.
