This is an astronomical Observatory managed by the Astronomical Institute of the University of Bern (AIUB). It is located close to the city of Bern in the vicinity of the Zimmerwald village. This is a scientific institution and public visits are not scheduled, but it is a very nice place to stop by if you are in the area. The domes and the entire Observatory are easily visible from the outside. Astronomical and geodesic observations are carried out 24 hours a day if the weather permits.Recently the building and the dome of the 1m telescope were refurbished and upgraded. Now the outline of the Observatory definitely changed.
