WAC International Club and English School

The WAC made settling into life in Switzerland so much easier - it's a great place to make friends and meet other international families. The people are friendly and open and my children have been able to maintain their English and enjoy both the school and social life. Disclaimer: I've been active as a volunteer and employee at the WAC for many years.

Both of my children love coming to the WAC. My son is in the Explorers class and always leave with a big smile. He comes home and tells me all the interesting things he's learnt in class. My daughter goes to the preschool and has a great time. She loves the teachers and I always know that she is in good hands.

Great location with easy access to parking and public transport. Friendly staff and members who volunteer and are from all over the world. I’ve been an active member of the WAC since I first joined six years ago in the playgroup before my youngest started school. The members were really friendly and welcoming and made our transition to Swiss life so much easier! My children have been attending reading and writing for the past few years and I’m always amazed by how supportive and encouraging the teachers are. I would highly recommend the WAC if you’re new to Switzerland or you simply want a supportive place to speak English and make new friends.

Erstklassische Englisch-Kurse und Aktivitäten für Kids von 0-14 mit eigener Bibliothek und zahlreichen Events.Unsere Familie ist seit 2016 Mitglied im WAC. Unsere Kinder lernen hier Englisch in einem warmen und familiären Umfeld. Alle Lehrer sind Muttersprachler mit vielen Jahren Erfahrung und überraschen jedes Mal mit kreativen Aktivitäten die man so nicht in anderen Kitas / Schulen findet. Der Umgang ist sehr liebevoll und die Gruppen klein, so dass sich alle gut kennen und über Jahre zusammen bleiben.Ein grosses Plus ist auch die gut ausgestattete englische Bibliothek, deren Nutzung inbegriffen ist.Ein weiterer Vorteil ist, dass zahlreiche englischsprachige Events und Aktivitäten organisiert werden, so dass die Kinder (und auch die Eltern!) in natürlicher Umgebung ihr Englisch anwenden können und Familien aus der ganzen Welt kennenlernen. Halloween, Weihnachtsfeier, International Day, Summer Barbecue oder Science Club - die Auswahl ist gross!Seit Beginn konnte ich aktiv im Vorstand mitwirken und so aktiv das Vereinsleben mitgestalten. Eine gute Gelegenheit auch neue Leute kennenzulernen!

Discovering WAC was the best thing that happened to me when I moved here and was feeling very lonely. We started by attending playgroups when my son was 5 months old and we both have found many good friends there. Now he is already 5 years old and is attending explorers classes which are simply fantastic and he asks me every day if we go to the WAC today as he loves there so much... It has lots to give to kids and maybe even more to mums as it's not easy to find friends when you are new to Switzerland and don't know the language. I have also attended dinner club and movie nights, Halloween/Christmas parties etc. It's our second home already! It's also VERY international - there are people from all over the world...

I’ve been a member for 3 years now and it’s been a lifeline. It offers activities, playgroups and classes from infancy to adulthood in both English and German. I’ve made some wonderful friends and all the staff there are friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this club to anyone looking to make some friends or give their child a head start at school.

My family loves the WAC. I first joined the WAC for the baby playgroups when my son turned 2.It was a lifesaver for me as I was lonely, isolated and depressed as I was a new arrival to Switzerland and did not know anyone nor spoke German very well. I had the chance to meet so many international people from various backgrounds. My son thoroughly enjoyed the preschool, Explorer classes and he is now in Reading and Writing. I have attended the German language courses organised at the WAC. The events organised by the WAC are always fun and exciting.

We love WAC and Learning Tree School since more than 10 years. Great place for kids and grown ups to be and spend their time meeting other families.

Ich kann das WAC sehr weiterempfehlen. Unsere Kinder (2 und 4 Jahre) besuchen beide die Preschool an 3 Tagen die Woche. Obwohl sie anfänglich nur wenig Englisch verstanden haben, sind sie immer voller Begeisterung hingegangen, da die Lehrer wirklich top sind und sich sehr viel Mühe mit den Kindern geben. Es wird sehr viel gebastelt und sie lernen englische Lieder. Inzwischen (weniger als 1 Jahr) klappt es mit dem Englisch schon prima und wir haben auch schon sehr gute Freundschaften geknüpft. Wer ein internationales Umfeld liebt, ist hier genau richtig!
