German Classes Basel

I really enjoyed my time learning German with Daria. Her sessions are interactive, fun, and really aid retention. She tailors her approach to your energy levels with mixed media formats, and time really flies in the classes. If you are struggling with one aspect, she will find a new way to help you progress, this was key for me, as I always hit roadblocks with other teachers. She even managed to make German grammar a fun puzzle, which is really saying something! I would recommend Daria to anyone looking to learn or improve their German.

Als Lehrerin ist Daria sehr geduldig und leidenschaftlich. Trotz meines Verlustes an Worten gab sie mir auf Wunsch Übungen für die Stufe B1. Ich habe den Deutschunterricht bei Daria wegen der Vielfalt der verwendeten Materialien sehr genossen. Jede Woche machen wir Übungen, die für meine Situation relevant sind. Zum Beispiel reden wir mit Hilfe einer Website über mein Land, schrieben eine Biografie von mir und einen kurzen Lebenslauf, und beschreib ein Video eines Charakters, der einen Job suchte. Mein Unterricht bei ihr half mir auch, Wege zu finden, um Deutsch in meine täglichen Aktivitäten zu integrieren.

I have recently completed a set of intensive German lessons with Daria (A1 level). Daria is a great teacher, very motivating and patient. Her lessons are very engaging, she alternates the use of traditional study books with self made videos about the art and culture in Basel. The lessons include conversations, reading, listening and watching videos, which make learning very interesting and dynamic. Daria also showed me to a lot of useful online learning materials, which nicely complemented the lessons and helped me to improve even faster. I am very happy of the progress I made in few months, thank you Daria! I can definitely recommend German Classes Basel!

Best German lessons I had so far! Daria has a fun and pleasant teaching style. She prepares the lessons with interesting topics that motivate to learn and practice German. Daria also offered extra activities free of charge with her students to further practice German, e.g. city walks and movie evenings. This allowed me to improve my German level almost without noticing. I started German lessons with Daria in 2016 to prepare for the Swiss citizenship application process. I successfully passed the German test and recently did the same with the Swiss citizenship interview! I totally recommend learning German with Daria!

I can truly and strongly recommend German Classes Basel to all expats and foreign people who moved to Basel and want to learn German! Daria is a great and a very skilled teacher. She gets very engaged with her students. I loved our conversations (in German! :)) and passed my first German exam with the highest score. With additional courses she organizes on top - i.e. Swiss literature, sustainability etc. - you can get familiar and better understand Swiss culture and get to know Basel from a different perspective. I had a lot of fun and will definitely continue my Deutschkurs with Daria!

Daria is the best teacher you can find.She is always supportive, her teaching capability and patience is excellent.It is also impressive how much you learn about Basel/Swiss culture, art and history while you are learning German.She also provide additional German activities like City tour, sustainability concept etc. which creates great environment to exercise your German in real life.

I have been learning German in German Classes Basel studio for some time, starting from A1 level and in the meantime passing A2, B1 and B2 level exams and still continue… The teacher, Daria, knows the requirements and can plan the learning path accordingly, if ones plan is to prepare to the exam.She uses different methods- speaking, reading, writing, listening, grammar exercises; all supported not only by the language books, but also by the other sources like recordings, internet, other texts, her own materials.Besides leading a professional school, Daria is well embedded into the cultural life of Basel, Switzerland and beyond, sharing her knowledge and passion. As my profession is far from the art, I must admit I have benefitted a lot beyond just learning German. Probably this is one of the reasons, why I continue the course! If only time allows, I participate in the additional classes organized by Daria. In summer I attended the course on the sustainability in Basel in different areas, meeting the owners of sustainable businesses; just a few weeks ago I took part in the swiss literature course. Last but not least: all happens in a friendly atmosphere, with the space for some fun!

Daria is the best German teacher that I met in Basel! She is very passionate about her job and her courses nicely combine grammar, speaking and also local culture. I strongly advise her courses!

I have really enjoyed my experience learning German with Daria. She uses a non-traditional approach which is more laid back, interesting and fun than the typical courses one finds elsewhere! She is also very patient, engaging and motivating which I really value. One can also learn a lot about life in Basel, art/culture and other inspiring themes. Daria is not only an outstanding teacher, but also an inspiring person, immersed in the cultural life of Basel. Her classes offer very intense communication exercises, that find their extension in the everyday life and at the events that Daria follows and convincingly recommends. Definately, the most broadening the horizon language course I have ever frequented.
