The Zentralbahn connects Lucerne with Interlaken East via the scenic Brünig Pass (see GoldenPass Line) and also Lucerne with Engelberg. Give us 50 minutes and we will take you to the Baroque cloister of Engelberg, which is now home to a cheese factory where the popular bell-shaped cheese is made. Getting there is half the fun and it is this journey that passes through many lovely villages and great views. The trains of the Zentralbahn operate every hour between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., from Lucerna to Stans and Giswil even with a half-hour interval. Plaza reservations are possible for the GoldenPass Panoramic trains between Lucerne and Interlaken Ost.
