TLDR: amazing building, nice people but, unfortunately, infantalizing concierge.Long version:The building:Is as good as it gets in terms of student houses.From what I know it is the best in the city: Huge, 2 balconies, a rooftop with a view on the alps and the lake, a big garden, many common areas, lots of light.The kitchen is almost professionally equipped, you'll find anything you need there and more. (Even a food processor and an espresso machine)The rooms are neither too big or small. The furniture is exactly what you'd expect in the average student house.The people:This point would be too subjective. They change all the time since you can't stay more than 2 years (or 3 if you help the concierge a few hours per month in running/maintaining the house, but it's not guaranteed, it's up to him)Be assured that you'll often find good company though, especially during dinner. (can get too loud and busy in the kitchen sometimes, usually between 8-10pm since there is just one for 17 students)The concierge has full discretion in choosing the newcomers but somehow, at least up until the last semester, everyone got along.The way the house works/ is managed:It is managed by a couple in their 30s/40s, they live in the house with their 2 children.The husband is usually in charge of dealing with the students and the wife takes care of the financial management of the house. (she's the best!! very kind and helpful)They do a pretty good job at running the house and often organise events for the students, my favourite one was the pre-summer break garden BBQ.Each student chooses which task to do (cleaning the kitchen once a week or taking care of recyclable waste) and this system works well.There are also weekly dinners on Wednesdays where rotating groups of 3 cook for everyone. The husband often joins.Duration of stay:You sign a 6 month contract every semester until you reach your 2 years.The husband/concierge can (or at least threatened to) end contracts if he's not happy about someone's behaviour. (he did it to me when I told him he's being unfair about something and refused to resume a meeting with him, although at the end he backed down and denied it ever happened)There is a foundation that supervises this house and a few others, so you theoretically can rely on them if you feel you're being treated unfairly, but in my case they just told me to talk it out with him.In some cases you can stay 3 years:Case 1:You become a student representative". You're basically a mediator between him and the other students. From what I've seen it doesn't seem worth it

Super schön und freundliches Personal.

Riverview Appartements is located on the hill of Heiterweid overlooking the city of Lucerne and the river called Reuss. On a sunny day you can enjoy an amazing panoramic view into the mountains. Because of it's great location in the middle of Lucerne town the appartements are only available for longterm bookings and reservation far ahead. The prices are very reasonable and parking for the car is available. ☆☆☆☆☆

Leider hat es nicht geklappt.Wollte eine Katze leider wohne ich zu nah einer Strasse!Was ich auch verstehe!!

Herausragende Gastgeber und ein Hof der etwas anderen Art mit gelebter Passion zum Handwerk und Selbermachen! Mein Vater und ich konnten leider nur eine Nacht bleiben, hätten es problemlos länger aushalten können. Danke für den einprägsamen Aufenthalt.

Gute Betreung für wieder auf die Beine zu kommen

Amazing newly-renovated student house in the center of Zürich. Despite its super centric location (a few minutes away by walking from the UZH, ETH, and USZ Zentrum Campuses) it offers affordable fares for bachelor’s and master’s students. Rooms are renovated and full of light and the common spaces are vibrant. There’s a deep sense of community among students and house leaders, which makes your stay meaningful and exciting. I strongly recommend this place for newcomers and international students who want to make the most out of their time in Zürich!

Nice apartment with excellent utilities.Location is excellent (near to SBB station and park for kids).Overall I am happy with stay.

Bei Annette gibt es das beste und schönste Zmorgen ever. Das Zimmer ist so hübsch und liebevoll eingerichtet und wenn es genug kalt ist, kann man den Schwedenofen im Zimmer anfeuern und es wird so richtig gemütlich. Nachtessen kocht man an der liebevoll gestalteten Schrankküche vor dem Zimmer. Ich freue mich shcon auf das nächste Mal.
